Opera Training for Kids?

Canuck asked:

My kids are 6 and 7, and have been in music training for 2 and 3 years respectively. I am very interested in their being able to pursue a career in opera and I want to start their training early. I have read about the onerous requirements to enter the profession such as:
- play piano fluently
- voice lessons starting no later than 10
- speak 5 languages (Russian, German, French, Italian, English)
- etc.

Do any parents of budding opera singers have any advice for me? My kids do vocals/piano/ballet now. When do you start them on language training, or is that learned in University, and where do you get this language training for kids? I live in Dallas, and language training here is only about Spanish.

Are their other things they should be doing when they get a bit older?

Thanks!

Autumn
